A-Z Chore Help Guide

Welcome to A-Z Chore! This guide will help Homeowner and Handymen understand how to use our platform effectively. A-Z Chore connects people who need tasks done (Homeowner) with skilled individuals (Handymen) looking for work. You can also use our mobile app on both iOS and Android for added convenience.

Getting Started - Login

To access all features of A-Z Chore, you need to log in. We offer several convenient login options:

  • Email: Enter your registered email address.
  • Phone Number: Enter your registered phone number.
  • Google: Log in quickly using your Google account.

Login Process (Email/Phone Number)

Note: Logging in for the first time automatically creates your A-Z Chore account.

Social Login

Sign in with Gmail or Apple ID — just one click and you’re in!

First-Time Login - Role Selection and Information

Upon your first login, you will be asked to:

  1. Confirm your Role: Choose whether you are a "Homeowner" (need to hire someone) or a "Handyman" (looking for work). You can change this role later as needed.
  2. Provide Basic Information: Enter your name, email address, and location.

Privacy: Your email and address will not be made public. This information is used by the system to enhance your experience, such as sending relevant notifications and recommending jobs within your area.

For Homeowner

As a Homeowner, you can perform the following actions:

Posting a Job

  1. Navigate to "Post a job": Click on "Post a job" in the menu.
  2. Fill out the Job Form:
    • Job Title: Provide a brief and clear description of the job (e.g., "Fix leaky faucet," "Assemble IKEA furniture").
    • Description: Describe the job in detail, including specific requirements, necessary skills, and the estimated time for completion.
    • Images: Upload one or more relevant images related to the task.
    • Show pay by: Choose how you want to offer payment:
      • Negotiable: You are open to discussing the price.
      • Per hour: Specify an hourly rate.
      • Maximum Budget: Set a maximum amount you are willing to pay.
    • Location: Enter the address where the job needs to be done. You can also adjust the location precisely on the map interface.
  3. Submit: Once all information is complete, click "Submit" to post your job. After approval, your listing will appear on the Home page.

Managing Job Postings

  1. Go to "Listings": Click on "Listings" in the menu.
  2. Tabs:
    • Active: Displays your approved job postings that are currently visible to Handymen.
    • Inactive: Displays job postings that are awaiting approval.
  3. View Details and Applicants: Click on any active listing to see its details. The "Applicants" section will show all Handymen who have applied.
  4. Chat with Applicants: Click "Chat" next to a Handyman's name to start a conversation and discuss the job details further. You can chat with multiple Handymen to find the best fit.

Managing Conversations

  1. Open "Chat": Click on "Chat" in the menu to view all your conversations with Handymen.
  2. Conversation Overview: Each conversation corresponds to a specific job posting and a Handyman who has applied.
  3. Chat Features: Our intuitive chat allows you to send text messages, images, audio recordings, and videos to facilitate clear communication about the job.

Providing Reviews

  1. Handyman Reports Completion: After completing the job, the Handyman will report it as finished, often including a description and images of the completed work.
  2. Navigate to "Chat": Click on "Chat" in the menu and select the conversation with the relevant Handyman.
  3. Review the Report: Click "Review" to see the Handyman's completion report.
  4. Write a Review and Rate: Provide written feedback on the Handyman's performance and select a star rating to evaluate their quality.
  5. Importance of Reviews: Your reviews are crucial for the A-Z Chore community. They help us rank Handymen, which benefits future Homeowner in selecting reliable and skilled individuals.

For Handymen

As a Handyman, you can perform the following actions:

Finding Jobs

  1. Use "Search": On the "Home" screen, use the "Search" feature to find jobs that match your skills and interests.
  2. Search Options: You can search by job description keywords and location.

Applying for Jobs

  1. View Job Details: Once you find a suitable job, click on it to see the full description.
  2. Click "Apply": If you are interested in the job, click the "Apply" button.
  3. Wait for Contact: The Homeowner will then contact you through the chat if they are interested in discussing the job further.
  4. Apply to Multiple Jobs: You can apply to as many jobs as you are qualified for.

Managing Conversations

  1. Open "Chat": Click on "Chat" in the menu to view your conversations with Homeowner regarding the jobs you've applied for.

Reporting Job Completion

  1. Navigate to "Chat": Once you have finished a job, go to "Chat" and select the conversation related to that job.
  2. Select "Submit Results": Click on the "Submit Results" (or similar) button.
  3. Describe Completion and Add Images: Describe the completed work and upload any relevant images showcasing the results.
  4. Submit: Click "Submit" to send your completion report to the Homeowner.
  5. Request Review: You can then use the chat to ask the Homeowner to review and rate your work.

Managing Your Jobs

  1. Go to "Listings": Click on "Listings" in the menu.
  2. Tabs:
    • Responded: Shows jobs you have applied to and the Homeowner has contacted you for discussion.
    • Waiting: Shows jobs you have applied to but are waiting for the Homeowner to contact you.
    • Done: Shows the jobs you have successfully completed.
    • Favorites: Shows jobs you have marked as interesting but haven't applied to yet.

General Tips for All Users

  • Read Carefully: Always read all instructions and information provided on the website.
  • Be Honest and Accurate: Provide truthful information in your profile and job postings/applications.
  • Keep Your Information Updated: Regularly update your profile and job listings to ensure accuracy.
  • Contact Support if Needed: If you encounter any issues or have questions, look for a "Help" or "Contact Us" section on the website.
